leases, licenses, and ladders. [May. 10th, 2003|05:59 pm]
Chaz Meyers
Today was pretty decent.

Aymon, Mike, Bitner, and I signed the lease and got the keys to our apartment. *Our apartment*. I think Bitner described it best when he said, "I feel so adult now."

Went home and got my license renewed. It was about time, considering that the old license has been in many little pieces for reasons I don't fully understand since before winter break.

http://www.intellectualwhores.com/ladderintro.html:
This informal article tries to explain the dynamics between guys and girls. It initially tries to come off as an outline of wantrelationshipwith vs nowantrelationshipwith, but it's really closer to an outline of wouldbuggerifihadthechance verse wouldntbuggerifihadthechance. I also think it over-generalizes and over-simplifies a bit.

Mostly, though, I agree with this article. Maybe. I don't want to, but I think I have to. I'm curious what other people think. I guess that's why I posted the link to it. :)

Yeah I have seen it floating around for a while. The form/style of the webpage tries to lend credence to a theory that is almost jock-frat-guy in its underlying values, but I think I may also agree with it. There are a few niche areas that I don't necessarily think are correct, but as an overall theory, I think it does have merit. It's hard to consciously define something that most people do unconsciously, though. People don't think in the formal terms that the Ladder Theory presents itself in, so I am a little wary of it under those circumstances.
