First of all, Kristina Foglio is the best email buddy ever. She keeps me amused for long hours at work while the rest of you bums forsake me. ;-)|
I'm almost done the RSS aggregator. It's really hackish, and probably should have been either written better or in one day. The part that updates the feeds every hour is working (although not set to run every hour yet), and the part that turns the RSS into HTML was finished at work on Friday. I just need to write something that will make a pretty looking listing of different feeds available, and make sure I'm not opening up any r00t sp01tz or anything. ;) Here's an example of the RSS-to-HTML output: outdated copy of cpm.livejournal.com/rss
If you're a paid user, you should definitely take a look at the new S2 style, Component. You can see it on my lastn page, friends page, and comment pages. (Well. Until I get bored with it and switch it around. )
The Specialist 2.0 Beta is out, which kicks major arse. I'm sure I've mentioned it somewhere before, but I normally thing first person shooters are boring and repetitive. This one is different.
I was thinking last week about how it would be pretty cool to write a mod based around the Marvel Universe. Maybe if I get the time. Mods are written in C++, which I know like the back of my hand.
Sounds like we're going to have a mess of people over tonight. Ay's two little brothers, Sammy and Yuseuf, Mike, Jess, Bitner, and his friend are all coming over. I don't think Jess is sleeping over though. *shrug* Tonight I'm going to see Reel Big Fish with Mike and Jess, which should be interesting since I've never heard them before. Heh.
We're researching how we can stay away from big companies for utilities. We're hoping to switch from Verizon to VoIP for phone, since Verizon keeps on trying to sign us up for shit we don't want and charge us 70+ when we just want local service. Comcast has been absolute bitches to us, so we're hoping to ditch them for Direct TV and DSL. Unfortunately, Verizon seems to be the most affordable DSL provider, which is kind of convenient since they own the lines. Covad seems to be the only alternative, but they charge a bit more and require a $100 setup fee. If you have any thoughts, feel free to share.
Bitner is moving in on Monday or Tuesday. It'll be nice to have some new blood here.
Speaking of blood, me and the outdoors don't work out too well. Less than five minutes into playing basketball in our driveway, and I cut up my leg. Now that's hot. Oh, and yes. Our driveway is the great outdoors now. Shut up. I hate you.
