cute little quote. [Aug. 13th, 2003|01:38 pm]

"yes the shortcut in the start menu really is an important aspect of Windows' GUI intuitiveness. Shut down is under "start." It really makes a lot of sense."

- Someone on Slashdot

With all the weird keys they put on keyboards (suspend button? volume control? internet?), I wonder why no one thought of coming up with a left-curly-quote and right-curly-quote key. "Smart quotes" are so much cooler than bland stiff ones. Or, maybe a meta key that would add an umlat or accent to whatever character you type while holding it down. I suppose keyboards that aren't designed for American English are already like that, though. I suppose it's for the better. If we go down that route, we could end up with keyboards like the ones the Japanese have. Those are crazy.

Alrighty then.

Well, I just can't get enough of beating this dead horse with this stick, but, I think I should be moving along to squezing some stones.
