I am finished classes for today, so I suppose now is as good a time as any for "The First Day of Class" synopsis, part one. I think I am going to use Laney-style headlines again, since they're easier to think through and read.
The sleep issue is unknown. Before I was worried about sleeping in. Well, I still don't know how that's going to work out. I have had a really funky sleeping pattern this past weekend, which lead to me not falling asleep until 2:00am. If I can get into a pattern when I fall asleep at 11:00pm, I do not think sleep will be a problem at all.
MIA: One bagSometime between my last class, lunch, getting my replacement ID, and work, my bag disapeared from the face of the earth. Actually, Aymon's bag with my stuff in it disapeared from the face of the earth. God damn it. I really liked that bag. At least I didn't buy any books yet. Does anyone know a place where you can pick up cheap, quality book bags? This is really annoying, since this is the second major thing I lost in the past few weeks.
The first class: Sociology in Race and RacismThis is part of my "Get all of the cores out of the way" initiative for this year. The professor, who's name I can't check up on because my syllabi are missing, has potential to either be decent or a jerk. He sounds like William Shatner, which is probably not a good thing. On the up side, though, I don't think this class is going to turn into "You are white. Therefore, you are an evil bastard." type of class. I hope that some people drop, since the class is a bit overcrowded. God damn freshmen. :P
The second class: Introduction to Asian ReligionsThis course is being taught by a PhD student, so we'll see how this goes. This is another part of the "Get all of the cores out of the way" initiative. The course is a bit mis-named, since the first bit of it will be all about Indian religions. Weird. Also, most of the grading will be on vocabulary. That is a bit lame. This class is also a bit crowded. In face, we had to steal seats from another room. Again, god damn freshmen. :P
Misc.Tonight we hook Mikey up with an internet connection. (It's pronounced 'row-ter', not 'rooter', you jerk.)
Tomorrow, hopefully, will not suck! The lineup is:
- Speech
- Break! (9:30 - 10:30)
- Computer Science
- Break! (11:30 - 12:30)
