Getting back on the posting wagon?

Probably not. But I have a few minutes right now before I run off to class, so here we go.

I last left you at opening night of Ragtime. It was an absolutely phenomenal experience. I started to write about it, but then I realized I just did not have the words. Thank you to everyone who came out to see it.

The ruby eval/transaction server I wrote about last time is finished and is in production. I find that it is much more responsive than the BackgrounDRB library I was using earlier. (Possibly I was not using Backgroundrb properly! No hate towards BackgrounDRB!) I think I might build a layer on top of it that exposes a "worker" API akin to how BackgrounDRB does. Debugging eval'd strings is never fun!

EventMachine is a wonderful library to work with. Perhaps I should write a "getting started howto" since I still have "newb" status to the library, and event-based network programming in general.

I started my last semester this past Monday. Not a moment too soon! Working full time, taking classes, and fulfilling existing freelance obligations is going to be a difficult interesting balancing act, but I greet it with open arms! The sooner I can be done with the ball and chain that is my pending undergraduate degree and move on to better and greener pastures the better!

meta: Are exclamation points becoming the "clueful smiley" now on online lexicon? With the exception of when the tone of the text clearly indicates frustration. Everything new is old and everything old is new! Vive the revolution! I would go further into this but I am out of time.
